We encourage teens to take part in the publishing process by submitting us your art work, music, photography, poetry, and short stories. We are giving teens the chance to speak out and express their creativity. We are giving them a chance to be heard in our magazine. We are a magazine for teens around the world! Children who once drew, danced, and sang, wrote simple poems and played.. as a grown up now says I don't do that anymore. We witness the decrease of that creativity as we grow older. There are famous adults for whom the creative window does not close, but for the most part adults become too busy to express themselves and their creativity.
A perfect example is Mozart, who was 16 years old when he wrote Symphony 26!
Here was a teen fully engaged in his art as he passed through years of difficulty only to produce
lots of creative works. If we can establish this joy and need for art, the habit of being around great art, then there is hope as they dive into adulthood. Teen Smudge Magazine would like to concentrate on fostering teens to an outlet through which they can channel their interests and talent through creativity. Teens need to explore dreams and express their creativity on the canvas of the world.
Being able to have a form of creativity gives a teen to have more of an open mind to explore life and dream more.
The teens involved with our magazine that I have worked with are all very opened minded and excited with lots of ideas for the magazine. It is very rewarding to see the smiles on their faces and the enthusiasm to produce such exciting photos for Teen Smudge Magazine. We are giving teens the chance to express themselves! It gives them a chance to have a voice in the world today. It gives teens the chance to express who they are and what they want to be in their lives. Creative and artistic thinking allows teens to take control of something.
At this age teens are told what to do and how to do it at both home and at school. Teens crave the chance to have some freedom of expression and make some decisions on their own. It allows teens to connect with their inner self, and promotes problem solving. This gives teens to figure things out through painting, drawing, sketching and various other mediums there are quite a few mathematical and scientific calculations that need to be figured out. Through art and creativity teens can continue to learn about perspective, geometry and chemistry just to name a few things.
Art is a great confidence builder. Teens want the freedom to think about a project and create solutions from their own imagination. Teen Smudge Magazine is looking for teens original creations so they can share it with the world. If thats not a confidence builder... I don't know what one is. Teens can relate to each other and creativity is free and cost nothing.
